WHO IS ELIGIABLE TO PARTICIPATE:

• smArt is offered to homeschool students who are in 2nd-4th grade during the 2024-2025 school year.

• Lessons will include verbal & demonstrated instruction and individual seatwork.

• Students in smArt must be able to stay seated for 45 minutes, maintain appropriate classroom behavior, listen quietly, follow directions, and treat other students and instructors with respect.

• smArt is an exploratory art class for beginning artists. It will focus on the freedom of creative exploration and design. If your 4th grader is interested in more skill based art lessons, I also offer Artist Inspired, which is an art history based set of art lessons available to 4th-12th grade students.

• Students are dropped-off for smArt . Only registered students may be in the classroom during lessons.

• There is a group coming in right after smArt. Students will need to be picked up on time.

 

WHEN & WHERE:​​

• Studio Inspired meets from 9:30-10:15 am on Monday or Wednesday mornings, depending on which session you choose. (They are the same lessons held on different days.)

• We will hold lessons four Mondays or Wednesdays a month. Please see the class calendar for which days we will meet in a month with 5 Mondays or Wednesdays,

• smArt  will be located in the gym lobby at Northwood Baptist Church

SUPPLIES:

 

• Each student is asked to bring their own smock (old art t-shirt or apron) and an old cookie sheet or other container to carry home their creations. (This will protect your car seats from paint and glue.)

• All other supplies will be provided by smArt .

PARTICIPATION:​​

• Submit the Interest Form at the bottom of the page with your information and class interest selection(s).

  • ​ Select either Monday or Wednesday lessons. Your student will only be attending one session per week. They are different sessions of the same class. 

  • Select your interest in which month(s) you would like your child to attend:​​​

• Once your smArt  Interest Form has been reviewed; if accepted into lessons, you will receive an email containing:

  • links to the Code of Conduct form

  • links to the Liability Waiver

  • a payment invoice. 

  • Each family must complete the liability waiver and Code of Conduct forms for each student prior to participation in class. These will be online documents via Google Forms.

Students will not be admitted into Artist Inspired without prior payment.
