smArt is not a traditional "studio art" class.  It will teach new techniques and methods to use with traditional supplies. "Taking something old and trying something new", while tapping into their own personal style and expression. 

• Each class period, students will be taught a new technique using a predetermined medium.

• We will practice the new technique, and then students will be challenged to apply it to a weekly assignment.

• Those assignments will be due prior to the next class through a digital photo sent to the teacher by email.

• Those pieces will be uploaded into our gallery to share. Only the title of the piece will be posted with the photo of their artwork. (Click "gallery" for examples.)

 

smArt is geared to 4th-8th graders, but all ages may participate. For the younger siblings, I suggest mom be nearby in case they need assistance. Some mediums might be too challenging for some younger children.

smArt consists of 4 one-hour classes each month.  Each class will be held on Wednesday at 2:00pm EST. If a month has 5 Wednesdays, we will not have class on one of those days. Click "schedule" under "class details" for details.

 

smArt classes will not be recorded for future viewing.  This is for the privacy of those students participating in class. Classes consist of a specified log-in time.

smArt class fees are $30 per month for a single household.  Everyone in that household may participate at that price. (Please do not share links or extend your family membership to out-of-household friends and family without approval.  If this occurs, membership will be terminated without refund.) I ask that you only use a single device.

smArt classes are virtual, so you will need to purchase your supplies prior to class.  I focus on a single artistic medium each month to keep costs reasonable to you. Click "supply list" under "class details" for a generalized list of supplies for the months to come and a specific list for the current month.

smArt is looking forward to having your family participate. Class fees are paid by the calendar month. (Meaning, you can pay for classes by the month, ex October. It does not apply to a mid month to mid month situation.)

If you would like to join mid month, you can, but I do not prorate.

smArt fee payments must be received 48 hours prior to the first class of the month to participate.  Fees may be paid through the "payment" page, which is under "Registration". You do NOT need to have a Paypal account to use the Paypal button!  You may pay using your Paypal account, Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover Card. or debit card. See details on the "payment" page.

smArt classes will be held via Zoom.

• You do not need to have a Zoom account to access the class. You only need to click on the link before class begins. The link will be sent to you the day before. (You an download the Zoom app if you prefer, but it is not necessary.)

• Please be sure to only have a single device logged into Zoom  on per household room due to feedback.
